Spiritual Happiness

Spiritual Happiness

Have you ever wondered why we meet some people even how far we are apart or why there are diverse group of people in this small world? I, personally, am curious that if someone created animals, humankinds, or the world, why he or she didn’t create them equally and made them all happy.

It is obvious that even though people are different in race, ethnicity, or religions, I am certain that the thing that all human-being try to pursue is happiness. A large number of scholars define the word “happiness” and also the path to be happy.

The Lord of Buddha said “The happiest moment is when people are in peace.” Islamic believe that in order to reach true happiness, people need to know what is the purpose of their lives by following the commands of God and His true religion. Christianity teaches people to be happy in God, to delight in God, to cherish and enjoy fellowship with God.

Generally, every single religion proposes people for the concept of being happy and how to be good person. In terms of basic standard of animals or humankind, every living thing has right and instinct to protect itself. In other word, all human-being like happiness but dislike suffering.

Therefore, people who care of others and never think of hurting someone, although they do not have any religion, they are considered as good human. In contrast, people who call themselves as deeply religious people, but cruelly attempt to hurt others’ lives and blaming their unkind action to the belief and principle of their God, do not have religion at all.

Since all religions teach people to do good things, including kindness, forgiveness, and selflessness, people who believe in them feel happy so they are willing to share their happiness to others.

I believe that it is a basic reaction of almost every people to try to tell others whatever makes them happy. Religions are one of them. Therefore, we have been able to see that numerous Christians or missionaries expand their religion to every part of the world, including Africa, Asia, and Australia because they would like to share their happiness and teach languages to others.

For Buddhism, even though we do not have much action in political world and do not have missionaries, Buddhists traditionally consider offering dharma, Lord of Buddha’s taught, to others is the best way to do good thing.

Having been taught by my parents to pay respect to Buddhist monks and go to temples every Sunday in order to make merits since I was a little girl, I did whatever they told me without asking about any reason. However, after spending my life in the field of law almost ten years, I become more reasonable than I was.

My life, like other girls or ladies, cried for a week when I broke up with my boyfriend. Also, I smile for a day when I am happy. However, I always had a question in my mind whether everything that I own, even myself, really is mine. Also, why I have to be happy and unhappy? Why I do not have only happiness?

After my teenager life and losing my beloved grandmother, I put effort on learning Buddhism and meditating. Then, I realize the meaning of real happiness. Learning to think correctly is the first step to be happy forever. One thing that is always right is whatever people cause, not matter good or bad, they have to prepare for the effect. Also, nothing in this world truly belongs to anyone. It is just the treasure of the world and nobody is able to take anything when they died

If people think right, they are aware of doing wrong thing and they have ability to improve themselves to the highest point of their life, the moment that they are free from any commitment and nothing can make them happy or sad. This is called, spiritual happiness.
